The Goldendoodle Ally is taking on a new, old set, compilation no. 55. All 10 various funny animals, and I don’t complain about the run. The only catch during the refresh of this set was an initial tendency to head for “Squeek” (mouse) before “Mums” (carrot). Negative feedback (a half high “peep” call) was then used for Squeek. She didn’t like it and consequently avoided Squeek also as item 3 so I had to let her know it was ok at that point. This tells us that the dog is sensitive to the order and the placement of the items. So set training is more of a tool for repeating item-word association then a proof that the dog is doing a full good association. But experience tells us that a number of repetitions will gradually result in a real association. We have to confess that time is an requirement to follow trough this kind of training. Certainly, one dog and another will differ in their prospect of getting somewhere, but time will be of great importance in the training of any individual canine.
